The Importance of Groups

In our lives it is extremely important to be part of groups or organizations. Therefore, I agree that groups or organizations play such an important role in our everyday lives for many reasons. One of them, it can help me to success in my professional live. Also, group of friends can help me to learn new experience every day and solve some problems related to my live.

First of all, groups or organizations are considered to be an important factor that can help me to success in my live. For example, if I am working for a company or organization, it is much better to work in a team than working alone. Let’s say that I have to finish some work related to a specific project, and that work should be done perfectly and in a short time. Therefore, I have to study that project and do all the work alone, so it will take me time and it could not be that perfect. On the other hand, if I am working as a part of a group or a team, we can divide that work. Each one can take a part of that project and concentrate on it, so the all work can be done perfectly with fewer mistakes. Even more, it is going to take a short time for that project to finish. That means I succeed in my work.

Second, in our lives it is important to have a group or a bunch of friends that I can spend time with, and some friends who can help me to learn new experience. For example, if I have a fewer friends or a small group, this means I will share the same things every day, so there is nothing new in my live. Also, let’s say that I have three friends, so if two of them are busy, I will find myself alone. As a result, I did not get any new experience. On the other hand, if I have a big group, this means I can share something new every day. As soon as I have a lot of friends in my group, I can spend a lot of time with them even if some of them are busy. Additionally, if I have a problem in my live, these friends can help me by giving me more than one opinion.

In conclusions, although some people might think that working alone in organization or getting fewer friends in the group much better, it is really important to be a part of a team in any organization to get the work done perfectly and in a short time. Even more, it is obvious that having a lot of friends can lead you to get new experience everyday and solve some problems related to your live.

Cultures and Beliefs

All countries in the world have a great number of values and assumptions that make their cultures quite different from each other. Some people thought that culture must be related to their professional and social lives. Others in some ways believe that their history and traditions are not important for their lives, and can effect on their future. For example, Libyan culture plays such a big part in their lives. However, some researches show that there are quite differences between Libyan and American culture in some areas such as individualism and equality.

To begin with, individualism is the first value that maintains the different in culture among these both countries. Americans train themselves to live separately from their family and to act responsibly in order to reach better future. For example, they teach their children from an early age how they should spend their money. Even more, they involve them in their social live to teach them how to express their opinion and speak politely and respectfully because it might help them some day at school or in their professional live. In addition, after teenagers finish their high school, their parents send them to the college if it is possible, and for those who do not have the ability to study, they have to live separately from their family to be responsible for their lives (Althen 5, 6, 7). On the other hand, Libyan culture has a different concept from Americans. They are connected to their traditions and their religions. For instance, they focus on teaching their children about religions, traditions, and their history to carry this culture to the next generations. However, they do not encourage their teenagers to leave their families’ house until they find a job, or when they want to get married. They also teach their teenagers how to be in touch with their family all the time. It means they are concerned about their families’ relationships more than their professional live.

Equality is the second value that reflects people’s relationships and respect for both countries. Americans believe that the all people are equal in their society. There are no differences between people’s levels in life. “One person, one vote,” they say. Even more, they believe that anyone’s opinion is valid and worthy to listen without any differences in positions. They do not like the way how the people in some countries respect each other such as bowing or using honorific titles (8). Their faith tells them that it does not matter what is the people’s situation in life, they will reach their goal if they work hard, and every one in United States deserves to be in high positions in the future (8). On the other hand, Libyans are always showing their respect to the people who are in high class level. For example, they have to say the titles to show the respect to that person such as teacher, manager or president. It is kind of strange for Americans and some other countries, but it shows kind of respect for those people. Finally, People’s opinion is also valuable in Libya, and any person can say anything as long as it is not related to the government.

In conclusion, it is obvious that American culture is quite different from Libyan culture in some areas such as how both countries train their generations during decades. Moreover, the idea of how Americans are treating each other equally is different from Libyans way of showing respect. However, both countries believe that their future connects to their culture, so it cannot be valuable if they do not adjust their culture. For instance, Americans are always trying to show their long term of view for their future. They thought that as they train themselves and their children how to be responsible and live separately, it will help them to guarantee their children’s future. Libyans on the other side focus on how they can increase the relationship between the families and their teenagers. They do not have that big view of future. They believe that future cannot be predicted, and they also do not know what future will bring to them. In addition, they have kind of equality in their culture, but they have to show their respect at the same time. Although both cultures are different, it reflects what they are concentrating on to get a better future.
